xBDK Parfums Oud Abramad Eau de Parfum is a spiced rose and oud fragrance launched in 2016 and credited to perfumer Mathilde Bijaoui. BDK describes it as a bridge between East and West, inspired by the warm marble of oriental palaces. This sample spray lets you try it before buying the 100 ml bottle.
Saffron and ginger open with heat and spice. Turkish rose and cumin form the heart, and the base layers agarwood (oud) with guaiac wood, cistus labdanum, incense, patchouli and castoreum for a dark, resinous, slightly animalic finish.
Oud is one of the richest materials in perfumery, so this suits autumn and winter evenings and formal events. A 2 ml spray is enough to see how the oud and cumin sit on your skin before you buy a full bottle.
